Subject: FCC Extends Period for Comment on the Accessibility of Communications Technologies for Biennial CVAA Report
Date: June 25, 2014 at 1:08:57 PM PDT
Comment Deadline: Extended to July 15, 2014
the level of compliance with accessibility requirements for telecommunications and advanced communications services and equipment, and Internet browsers built into mobile phones;
the effect of accessibility recordkeeping and enforcement requirements on the development and deployment of new communications technologies; and
the extent to which accessibility barriers still exist with respect to new communications technologies.
This information will help inform the FCC’s report to Congress about these issues, which is required by the Twenty-First Century Communications and Video Accessibility Act of 2010 (CVAA) and is due October 8, 2014. The FCC will publish and seek public comment on its tentative findings on these matters before it submits its report to Congress.
